Why should a football club only teach football players? We strongly believe that developing coaches, creates better players!
We have designed our Future Coaches Programme so that we can teach those as passionate about football as we are. Typically aimed at boys and girls aged between 13-16 but not exclusively, this programme will give you everything you need to potentially follow a career within football or to continue at grassroots level. As your understanding of the game increases you will develop as a player too!
In this programme you will become a Qualified Referee, FA Qualified Coach and undertake a variety of supplementary courses. Those courses will include, First Aid, Child Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity in Football, FA Playmaker and more. If you decide to extend your commitment to the club, you will also be able to undertake your Level 2 Coaching and further courses.
In this programme you will be assigned a mentor who will be an experienced coach and referee. They will answer any questions and queries you have and make sure you develop and learn.
To be considered for this programme you should meet the following criteria;
● Passionate about football and teaching it
● Be able to demonstrate core aspects of the game, such as passing and shooting.
● Available to attend training sessions most Saturdays and one evening in the week (Likely a Wednesday – TBC)
If you are undertaking your GCSE Sports Studies, we will film some sessions and your development to aide your course work. If the school require any written feedback this will also be provided.
This is a voluntary programme but all of your courses will be paid for and your mentorship is free. You will have the opportunity to earn money through refereeing the club teams when you become qualified.
