**SENIORS MAKE HISTORY!!**

Hatfield Seniors picked their first ever league title and boy, did they do it is style. With a league record that reads: Games – 18, Wins – 18, Scored – 66, Conceded 16 (14 less than the next best defence!). This is a team of invincibles and all in Manager Curtis Warners first season at the helm. The squad started the season strong with the opening game being against The Wrestlers FC who many thought were favourites for the title.

Seniors took an easy victory that day with a 5-0 win, setting the tempo for what laid ahead. Hatfield Seniors went on to score 6+ goals in 6 of there 18 fixtures! The biggest victory came away to Welwyn Pegasus in an early season 8-1 drubbing. Seniors wrapped up the title in what was the tightest game of the season, a 1-0 win away to Hatfield Mosquito, with the title winning goal coming from Michael Curtis with a penalty.

Club Captain Darren O’Brien said on the victory “to be Captain and winning the league are two very special feats in themselves but to do both, plus go unbeaten for the whole season is probably my proudest moment in football “.

Darren was part of the Hatfield Youth set up for about 6 years until Under 15’s and returned over 10 years later, immediately showing his leadership skills and taking the Captains armband from day one. The clubs longest serving player, Aaron Puleston said “After 25+ years, to finally win a league means so much to both myself personally but also the club. The seniors team started the club back in 1993 and has continued from then and it is our first league win”
